Srinagar observed a shutdown on the second consecutive Friday over the blasphemous remarks passed by two (now-suspended) BJP leaders against the last Islamic Prophet.
Shops and business establishments remained shut including the commercial hub of the capital, Lal Chowk.
Earlier last
Friday, Srinagar, and parts of Kashmir valley remained shut amid clashes in J&K's Bhaderwah and Kishtwar districts over the blasphemous remarks.
Srinagar residents have been continuously protesting against the blasphemous remarks including college students.

India faced global outrage after the ruling party's (BJP) leaders made blasphemous remarks against the last prophet of Islam on TV debates.
Qatar, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Indonesia, and Oman among many countries across the world denounced the remarks and summoned Indian envoys.
BJP suspended the duo and called them ‘fringe.’
