Muslim World Slams India Against Insulting Last Prophet Of Islam

India is facing major diplomatic outrage from Muslim countries after top officials in the governing party BJP made ‘derogatory references’ to Islam, the last Islamic Prophet Muhammad, and his wife with blasphemy accusations.

After Qatar and Kuwait summoned the Indian ambassador for insulting the last Islamic prophet by two former BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) associates on TV debates, Iran has also denounced the derogatory remarks and summoned the Indian envoy.

Earlier, Qatar and Kuwait summoned the Indian ambassador and called such ‘remarks’ unacceptable. The statement by the Qatar ministry was expecting a public apology and immediate condemnation of these remarks from the Government of India.

Moreover, the Taliban administration in Afghanistan has also condemned the ‘controversial remarks’ by two BJP leaders and said ‘Indian government must not allow such "fanatics" to insult Islam or other religions.’

Pakistan’s interim Govt led by Shabaz Sherif has called ‘comments’ hurtful and said "India under Modi is trampling religious freedoms & persecuting Muslims,” according to The Hindu.

However, the BJP suspended both of its associated after backlash from the Muslim world and issued a statement saying that the ‘BJP is strongly against any ideology which insults or demeans any sect or religion and does not promote such people or philosophy.’

Some superstores in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain have reportedly removed Indian products.

India maintains strong relations with the wealthy sheikhdoms of Qatar and Kuwait, which rely on millions of migrant workers from India and elsewhere in South Asia to serve their tiny local populations and drive the machinery of daily life. India also depends on oil-rich Gulf Arab states to power its energy-thirsty economy
