Kupwuar, April 27 — A 43-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after being shot by ‘unknown gunmen’ who barged into his residence on Saturday evening in the Kandi Khas area of North Kashmir's Kupwara district.
Officials said the gunmen entered the house of Ghulam Rasool Magray, son of Ghulam Hassan Magray, and opened fire.
“He received bullet wounds in the abdomen and left wrist.”
Magray was immediately shifted to District Hospital Handwara and later referred to SMHS Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
The attack comes amid a massive crackdown across Kashmir following the Pahalgam attack, with nine homes of alleged local militants being blown since Friday.
