Banihal: An Assistant Engineer working in the Public Works Department was arrested on Monday over rape charges in Banihal town of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban District.
According to officials, the accused has been identified as Yawar Amin, AE Samagra Shiksha Ramban.
The accused has been arrested for sexually assaulting his 18-year-old domestic helper, the official said.
The charge sheet was filed by the victim, along with her father, at the local police station on Monday, he added.
A case has been registered in this regard, and the accused is currently detained by the Police, he eventually said.
