Gujarat: A truck driver, identified as Bachal Khan (37), was arrested in Gujarat's Banaskantha district for offering 'namaz' (Islamic prayers) on the roadside "without permission," as stated by the police on Sunday.

The arrest followed the circulation of a video on social media depicting Khan offering prayers in front of his truck, which was parked at a crossroad near Palanpur city, according to an official from Palanpur (west) police station.

The video capturing Khan's act of praying was recorded by an unidentified person, subsequently gaining traction on social media and prompting swift police intervention.

In response to the incident, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed against Khan under sections 283 (danger in public way), 186 (obstructing public servant in discharging duties), and 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as stated by the official.
