Kashmiri Sikhs Protest Over Desecration Attempt In Golden Temple, Demand Protection Of Every Holy Book

Srinagar: Kashmiri Sikhs including social activist Angad Singh Khalsa staged a protest in Srinagar’s Press Enclave over the recent attempt by an unidentified man to desecrate the holy book of Sikhs (considered as the 11th Guru) inside the sanctorum of Golden Temple.

According to Visuals by a local channel that telecasts the temple proceedings live, the unidentified man wearing a yellow head cover jumps into the sanctorum of the holy books and picks the holy sword placed on the Guru Grath Sahib.

As he was taken to SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) office for questioning, a violet mob beaten him to death on the way.

“We want government or religious institutions to ensure that no holy book is touched in desecration and if the government won’t pay heed then religious intuitions should take a stand,” a protester said.

“We want all Holy books to be protected,” he said,

Reports suggest, the man who was lynched was from Uttar Pradesh.

The incident took place around 6 pm, when the last of the daily prayers, the Rehrehas Sahib was going on.
