Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey Is J&K High Court’s New Chief Justice

 Srinagar/New Delhi: The President of India, Droupadi Murmuon on Tuesday appointed Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

According to the official order, justice Magrey’s term will start the day he assume charges of his office.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Ali Mohd Magrey, Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to be Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office,” reads the order.

Earlier, the Supreme Court collegium also recommended Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey to be the new Chief Justice of J&K and Ladakh High Court.
