Srinagar, Jan 28 — More than 12.6 lakh new beneficiaries were enrolled across key financial inclusion and social security schemes in Jammu and Kashmir during the current financial year, with Jammu, Pulwama and Baramulla recording the highest additions, according to official data.
The enrolments were made under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
Under PMJDY, 1,26,803 new bank accounts were opened between April and December 2025, taking the total number of accounts in the Union Territory from 23,66,953 to 24,93,756. Jammu, Samba and Reasi recorded the highest number of new accounts.
Officials said 5,42,675 people were newly enrolled under PMSBY during the same period, increasing total coverage from 23,56,858 to 29,12,830. Pulwama topped the list, followed by Samba and Jammu.
Under PMJJBY, subscriber numbers rose by 2,20,660, from 9,66,887 in March 2025 to 11,87,547 by December 2025, with Baramulla reporting the highest enrolments, followed by Jammu and Ganderbal.
The Atal Pension Yojana added 40,582 new subscribers, taking the total to 2,88,602, with Jammu, Samba and Pulwama recording the largest increases.
Officials also reported an increase in digital life certifications under the Jeevan Praman initiative. The number of digital certificates issued rose from around 4,000 to 1,11,511 during 2025–26. Of the approximately 2.49 lakh pensioners in J&K, 2.37 lakh have completed life certification, with nearly half opting for digital submission.
Rajouri, Kulgam and Udhampur recorded the highest participation under the digital certification campaign.
