Israeli Settlers, Police Storm Al Aqsa Mosque

Scores of Israeli settlers accompanied by Israeli police on Sunday broke into the third holy Islamic site of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem, Wafa reported.

The Jordan-run Islamic Waqf authority, in charge of the holy site, said scores of Israeli settlers entered the compound through the Moroccan Gate and performed 'Jewish' rituals under the protection of Israeli police.

It is the second consecutive attack from Israel against Palestinian Muslims on the straight second day.

On Saturday, scores of Israeli police personnel broke into the Al Aqsa compound and forcibly evicted hundreds of Muslim worshipers from the holy site.

At least two worshipers were arrested by the police, according to witnesses.

Jerusalem is considered holy by three Abrahamic religions of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity.

Israel occupied East Jerusalem in 1967.
