Imam (Head cleric, the one who leads Muslim worshippers in Prayers) among 21 were killed and 40 others injured after a massive blast ripped a mosque in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul on Wednesday evening,
As per media reports, the blast took place during the evening (Maghrib) prayers killing 21 people and injuring 40 others.
The blast was so powerful that it shattered the windows of the nearby houses.
“A blast happened inside a mosque…. the blast has casualties, but the numbers are not clear yet," Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran told Reuters.
One Taliban intelligence official said that the death toll could rise further.
Kabul’s Emergency Hospital stated that so far 27 injured patients are being treated at the facility, including a seven-year-old child.
However, no outfit has so far claimed responsibility of the attack.
