Pir Panjal: A 9-year-old boy was injured and two persons had a 'miraculous' escape after unknown persons fired upon them while they were heading towards a shrine in the Surankote area of Poonch district on Thursday.
Sources identified the injured as Afran Ahmed, son of Mohammad Sharief and a resident of Sangla in Surankote, Poonch.
He was rushed to Sub-district hospital Surankote and referred to Government Medical College Rajouri for advanced treatment, they said.
"Immediately after the incident, Police rushed to the spot and started a probe," an official said.
“We are working on the case,” he said.
Recently, two armed men killed seven persons in Rajouri. Soon after the twin attacks, the military started training Militia under
VGD (Village Defense Guard) announced by the home ministry last year.
