Srinagar: Inspector General of Police IGP Vijay Kumar and Div Com Kashmir PK Pole visited the historic mosque of Srinagar, Jamia Masjid on Monday and said that the government is considering to reopen the mosque for Friday prayers.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) said that the government is considering to reopen Jamia Masjid in the next week.
The duo also held meeting with Imam Jamia and Secretary Auqaf Jamia Masjid and reviewed arrangements of its functioning.
Reportedly, the mosque had remained closed for the mandatory congregational Friday prayers since 30 weeks.
