Fresh Snowfall In Gulmarg, Wet Spell Untill March 15

Srinagar: Gulmarg, a famous ski-resort received fresh snowfall while the plains were lashed by rains as a new Western Disturbance (WD) swept across the region of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

According to reports, clear skies were observed in Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, and other areas until this afternoon. Subsequently, Gulmarg began to experience fresh snowfall, leading to a decrease in temperatures in several places, with rain observed in Srinagar and other areas this evening.

The occurrence of rain and snowfall today in Jammu and Kashmir has been attributed to the influence of a Western Disturbance, as stated by officials from the Meteorological Department. They further noted that another Western Disturbance is expected to affect Jammu and Kashmir in the coming days.

Director Meteorological department, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that the weather would remain partly to generally cloudy tomorrow on March 12 while on March 13, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snow at many places with thunder and lightning accompanied by gusty winds.

On March 14, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy with possibility of light rain and snow at few places.

Nonetheless, he said that from March 15 to March 20, the weather would remain generally dry.
