Custodian General Tours Evacuee Property Assets In Srinagar

Srinagar: The Custodian General of Jammu and Kashmir, Rishpal Singh (JKAS), undertook an extensive tour of Evacuee property assets and land on February 13th and 14th, 2024. The tour covered various areas including Peerbagh, Hyderpora, Sanatnagar, Panthachowk, Boulevard, Kathidarwaza Rainawari, and other locations in the Kashmir Valley.
 
During the visit to Evacuee property flats, Convention Centres/Marriage Halls, and Shopping Complexes in Hyderpora, Srinagar, the Custodian General met with delegations of tenants. “Their demands were promptly addressed, with directions passed to the Custodian Kashmir to resolve other genuine tenant demands as quickly as possible.”
 
Additionally, on February 13th, 2024, the Custodian General held a review meeting with Officers/Officials of the Evacuee Property Department Kashmir at his office chamber in Shaheed Gunj, Srinagar. Discussions centered on the department's functioning and the implementation of decisions from previous meetings.
 
Expressing satisfaction with achievements such as reconciling figures of notified Evacuee land in consultation with the Revenue Department and retrieving land, Custodian General Mr. Rishpal Singh stressed the department's responsibility in safeguarding Evacuee property, urging swift action in cases of encroachment, emphasizing collaboration with the Revenue/Police Department.
 
Furthermore, Deputy Custodians were instructed to coordinate with District Administration for effective management and safeguarding of Evacuee property. “Identification of land suitable for commercial purposes, fencing of land, and installation of signboards to prevent encroachment were accentuated. The department's e-auction portal was mentioned for auctioning non-viable land.
 
Addressing concerns raised by department employees regarding Promotion Committee Meetings and Recruitment Rules, the Custodian General assured prompt action to finalize Recruitment Rules for employee promotions.
 
In conclusion, the Custodian General stressed the importance of scanning department records, completing Geo-tagging of all Evacuee Property, and prioritizing employee skill enhancement and orientation programmes by the end of February 2024.
