Kupwara: An unidentified militant was killed as forces claim to foil an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in the Tangdhar Sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Friday.
In a joint operation, the Indian army and J&K police foiled an infiltration attempt in the Tangdhar Sector, an official said.
He said troops deployed along the LoC detected a suspicious movement and on being challenged at proximity at an army post; an intense firefight ensued, resulting in the killing of a militant.
Two AK rifles, 3 pistols, and other war-like stores were also recovered from his possession. However his identity remains uncertain, he added.
