Srinagar, Jan 20 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday inaugurated the revamped Amira Kadal bridge, saying its restoration reflects Srinagar’s architectural heritage and the administration’s effort to integrate tradition with modern urban infrastructure.
Speaking after the inauguration, Sinha said the bridge had been completely rebuilt with modern facilities while retaining its original architectural character.
“The bridge has been reconstructed with all modern amenities, but its real architectural design has been preserved. It is fully dedicated to the residents of the city,” the Lieutenant Governor told reporters.
He said the Smart City initiative seeks to revive Srinagar’s traditional urban identity while improving public spaces and connectivity.
“Under this initiative, we are focusing on combining Srinagar’s heritage with modern amenities so that a vibrant cultural space is created,” Sinha said.
The Lieutenant Governor added that the completion of Smart City projects would help restore the historic connection between Srinagar and Shehr-e-Khaas (downtown).
