180 Militants, 31 Civilians, 31 Troops Killed In Kashmir This Year: Govt Informs Parliament

Srinagar: Union Minister of State for Home, Govt of India, Nityanand Rai on Wednesday informed the Indian Parliament that 180 militants, 31 civilians, and 31 armed forces have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir during encounters with forces this year so far.  

Nityanand Rai, while informing the Rajya Sabha (upper house of the Parliament) said that 62 Indian troops including 31 civilians were also killed during the current year.
 
He said 123 militancy-related incidents took place in J&K during the current year with 31 security forces personnel and 31 civilians being killed.
 
The threat letter given by the TRF (The Resistance Front) militant outfit against dozens of valley-based journalists was also mentioned. 
 
Notably, the parliament has begun its winter session on Wednesday till December 29. The session will have a total of 17 working days. The Centre's agenda for the winter session of Parliament includes 16 new bills.
