11,600 Kanals Of ‘State Land’ Retrieved In Ganderbal: J&K Govt

Ganderbal: The Jammu and Kashmir administration led by LG Manoj Sinha claimed to have retrieved 11, 6000 kanals of land in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal on Thursday. 

The administration said that given the directions by the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Shyambir; a joint team of Revenue and Police department led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah retrieved 718 kanals of ‘State’ and Kahcharai land in various tehsils of the district.

During the ongoing drive, the district administration has retrieved 11600 kanals of State and Kahcharai land across the district as of date which the government said can be used for community purposes.

While giving details about the anti-encroachment drives undertaken to preserve the government land, the DC said the drive will continue and no one will be spared. He said all the ‘illegal encroachments’ on the ‘State’ as well as Kahcharai land will be removed.

The DC has sought the cooperation of the general public in retrieving the government land from land grabbers. He also warned of action under relevant laws in matters of encroachment on State and Kahcharai land.
