As the National spokespersons of India’s ruling government BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party) made ‘inflammatory remarks’ against the last Islamic Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and his wife, Arab countries have strongly denounced the Islamic blasphemy with hashtags calling for the boycott of Indian products trending on Twitter.

The blasphemy was made by two BJP associates Naveen Kumar Jindal who is the media chief of the party’s unit and Nupur Sharma, national spokesperson of the BJP.

Meanwhile, the party has 'suspended' Nupur Sharma and expelled Naveen Kumar Jindal, it also issued a statement saying that the ‘BJP is strongly against any ideology which insults or demeans any sect or religion and does not promote such people or philosophy.’

However, Party sources said the decision has been taken to defuse controversy following backlash from inside and outside the country

The ‘derogatory remarks’ developed anger across Arab countries including Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

Qatar and Kuwait have also summoned the Indian ambassador and called such ‘remarks’ unacceptable. The statement by the Qatar ministry is expecting a public apology and immediate condemnation of these remarks from the Government of India.

Some superstores in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain have reportedly removed Indian products.

The tweets also included a scathing attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalili, the Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, denounced the comments on twitter.

“The insolent and obscene rudeness of the official spokesman for the ruling extremist party calls all Muslims to rise as one nation,” he said.

The suspended spokesperson Nupur’s comments led to communal clashes in Kanpur on Friday leading to the arrests of 17 people and the closure of shops. Multiple FIRs were filed against her in Pune, Bhiwadi, Hyderabad, and Thane.
